個展「此処ではないどこか」

2024年12月14日(土)より東京のgallery201にて、金子明日香の個展を開催いたします。

2024年、東北でのアーティスト・イン・レジデンスから始まり、その後京都へ拠点を移し、馴染みのない新しい環境に身を置くことで自身の表現の源を探ってきました。

本展では作家活動の始まり、原点の場所であるgallery201にて今年様々な場所や人々に触れながら制作した作品を展示いたします。

私を取り戻してくれるのはいつも風景だった。その風景は今目の前に映っているものであり、今まで見てきた断片が織り交ざったものであり、それらは此処ではないどこかへ連れて行ってくれた。世の建築家は様々な制約の中で建築を設計するが、建築家が描くドローイングやそこから派生するアンビルド建築は、現実の不自由さから解放された（あるいは不自由の中での自由を手にした）風景を描いているように見える。

不自由な中で自由の可能性と希望を持って空間をつくる建築家たちは、どんな風に風景を見ていたのだろう。描いていたのだろう。

私はそんな、起こらなかった世界の風景を見てみたい、と思った。

Asuka Kaneko Asuka's solo exhibition will be held at gallery201 in Tokyo from December 14, 2024.

Beginning with an artist-in-residence in Tohoku in 2024 and later moving to Kyoto, I have searched for the source of my own expression by placing myself in new and unfamiliar places.

This exhibition will present works created this year while in contact with various places and people at gallery201, the place of my beginnings as a painter and the place of my origin. Please come and see it.

It is always the landscape that brings me back. The landscape is what I see in front of me now, an interweaving of the pieces I have seen, and they take me somewhere other than here. Architects in the world design buildings under various constraints, but the drawings and unbuilt buildings by architects seem to depict a landscape that has been freed from the inconvenience of reality (or has achieved freedom in the inconvenience).

How did these architects, who create spaces with the possibility and hope of freedom in the midst of inconvenience, view the landscape? What kind of landscapes did they envision?

I wanted to see the landscape of a world that never happened.
