個展「待ちて、宵」

2025年9月8日(月)より京都の日本酒サロン 粋 -sui- にて、金子明日香の個展を開催いたします。
本展は、2024年に京都へ拠点を移し、初めての京都での個展です。
前期「待ちて、宵」 ・後期「巡るて、宵」の2期構成で、作品を入れ替えて展示いたします。

いつからか「待つ」ことがずいぶん苦手になっていました。
芸術家たちのドローイングを見ていると、その線や筆致に、長い時間を含んだ豊かさとひたむきさを感じます。
たっぷりと水を含んだ絵の具や、線の連なり・重なり方で表情が変わっていく時間は、時に私を悩まし、そして魅了してくれます。同時に、たしかに私の時間だと感じ、作品を通じてその時間が愛おしくなってきました。
誰か、や何か、を想い豊かに待つことができたなら、それはとても大切な関係のような気がします。
日が沈み、待つことが苦しくなったとき、私は外に出ます。暗闇に引き込んでくるような夜もあれば、やわらかな明かりを灯す居場所に導いてくれる夜もあります。
その場所で出会った人々、そして共にいる作品との時間が、その夜だけでも満ちていきますように。
たくさんのご縁とつながりができた大切な場所で展示できること、店主の堀さんからうまれるキラキラしたあたたかい空間で作品と共に過ごせること、とても嬉しいです。
お店でお会いした日には、ぜひ一緒に乾杯しましょう。

Asuka Kaneko's solo exhibition will be held at Kyoto's Japanese Sake Salon “sui” from September 8, 2025.
This exhibition marks her first solo show in Kyoto since relocating her base there in 2024.
It will be presented in two phases: 1st half “Waiting, Night” and 2nd half “Circling, Night” with works rotated between phases.
We sincerely hope you will attend.

At some point, I became quite poor at “waiting.”
When I look at artists' drawings, I sense a richness and devotion within their lines and brushstrokes that holds the weight of long hours.
The time it takes for paint saturated with water to change expression, or for lines to shift through their sequence and layering, sometimes troubles me and sometimes captivates me. And at the same time, I feel it is truly my time, and through the work, I've come to cherish that time.
If one could wait richly for someone or something, it feels like it would be a truly precious relationship.
When the sun sets and waiting becomes painful, I go outside. Some nights pull me into darkness, while others guide me to a place lit by soft light.
May the time spent with the people I meet there, and with my work, be filled—even if just for that night.
I am truly delighted to exhibit in this cherished place where so many connections and bonds have formed, and to spend time with my work in the sparkling, warm space created by shop owner Ms. Hori.
On the day we meet at the shop, let's raise a toast together.
